Situated on the edge of the beautiful Lake District and less than a mile from the M6 motorway, Capernwray Diving Centre is a special place. We have been welcoming divers from all over the country. Since 1995, Capernwray has grown and developed into the most progressive and professional scuba diving operations in the UK. We offer a unique product; a stunning location, amazingly clear water, excellent in-water attractions with huge and friendly fish (!), and outstanding topside facilities. Our safety protocols are unequalled anywhere and we offer world-class diving instruction, through a team of highly experienced instructors. All this is overseen by a committed and professional management team who ensure that the place runs smoothly, with a total attention to detail. There are many inland centres in the UK but we are biased and firmly believe that we are the best! Many of our customers are kind enough to agree with us so if you have not been to Capernwray before, please come and pay us a visit. You will be assured of a very warm welcome and can find out for yourself what all the fuss is about.
There is a wealth of information contained within this website; please have a browse and see for yourself why we all think this place is so special. I would like to highlight a few pages for your information; our state-of-the art clubhouse and the details of our diving school. Built on two levels, the ground floor of the clubhouse features a bar and restaurant, where you are welcome to come and enjoy our hospitality in your diving gear. No need to change out of your (wet) dry suits between dives! Our home-cooked food is superb and includes an outdoor barbeque at weekends. Should your club or school require it, we can offer luxurious conference facilities for hire on the second floor. Both levels of the clubhouse feature huge outside terraces overlooking the water, where you and your friends and families can relax and watch the diving going on in the clear water below. Our Dive School pages cover the various courses we offer and go into some detail regarding our teaching philosophy. We are determined to offer only the highest standard of diving education; consequently, our courses may appear more expensive than others. However, we will not lower our standards and as in all things in life, the best is rarely the cheapest.
We hope that in this website we can portray a little of what makes this place tick; the atmosphere, the location, the amazing facilities, the clarity of the water, the wrecks, the huge trout, the four enormous sturgeons, Murphy our wonderful Dalmatian and so on. Above all, we are fortunate to have such a great bunch of people here, all of whom are hand-picked for their experience and professionalism and who will ensure that you receive an equally warm welcome on your first and multiple return visits!
As we enter our second decade in operation, we are determined to continue to provide the best possible experience to all our customers. We know Capernwray is rather special; I hope you will think so too.
